Ballparks of America Memorial Day Tournament Hosts Baseball Artist Nathan Rueckert of Baseball Seams

Weekend Event Engages Participation in American Flag Art Project

(Branson, MO) May 23, 2023–  Ballparks of America is proud to announce its partnership with renowned baseball artist Nathan Rueckert and his company, Baseball Seams Co. at Ballparks’ upcoming Memorial Day Classic tournament. Rueckert will be stationed in Ballparks’ Pro Shop all weekend long, bringing to life his next great art exhibit– a massive American Flag installation that will be constructed from approximately 100 old, tattered baseballs.

Rueckert’s artwork has been displayed at the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the White House, the College World Series, as well as several MLB stadiums. Ballparks and Rueckart will offer a wide variety of Baseball Seams’ unique creations for sale in the pro shop all weekend.

The new project, titled “America’s Flag,” will feature a 3-foot-wide American Flag made entirely from used baseball leather and red seams. Rueckert is seeking participation from the baseball community, looking for nearly 400 participants to help glue down individual red seams to create the flag.  While many of the players and families participating in the Memorial Day tournament are expected to add baseball seams to the America’s Flag project, Ballparks and Rueckert are encouraging the community to come out and participate as well.

Once the America’s Flag artwork is completed, a limited edition autographed 24×36 poster will be produced and will be available for sale, both by pre-order and in Ballparks’ pro shop on a go-forward basis.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome my talented friend, Nate Rueckert to Ballparks and our Memorial Day tournament,” said Paul Satterwhite, part of the ownership group of Ballparks of America. “His artistic talent has impacted the national baseball community for years, and we believe that ‘America’s Flag’ will be a great way to celebrate our nation and the sport of baseball during this important holiday weekend.  This is truly a unique opportunity for baseball fans of all ages to be a part of something special by contributing to Nate’s unforgettable piece of art.”

The Memorial Day Classic will take place from May 26-29, 2023, at Ballparks of America in Branson, Missouri. The event will feature 30 11–13-year-old baseball teams from 13 different states who will have the opportunity to take on top-notch competition on Ballparks’ fields and participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of the creation of a spectacular piece of artwork.
